Space is a large space with many galaxies, stars and planets. I watched several programs about space and read articles about it. Astronomers are constantly studying space and making new discoveries. For humanity, space remains unknown. There are many discoveries and assumptions about space. For a long time I wanted to write an essay on the topic of space at school, since space remains one of the great mysteries for man.

There is a Milky Way in space, which, as astronomers suggest, appeared as a result of the big bang about 13.1 billion years old. Our galaxy and solar system are located in the milky way. Our system contains a star called the Sun and several planets. Due to certain conditions on the planets, according to scientists, life was born. One of these planets is Earth.

From documentaries and articles, I know that there is gravity in space. Therefore, our star Sun attracts several planets that revolve around it in their orbits. Our planet Earth also has gravity and therefore attracts the sickly weak planet in terms of gravity, the Moon. The moon is four times smaller than the Earth and the distance to it from our planet is about 340,000 km. The moon is a satellite of the earth.

From their documentaries about an essay on the topic of space, I know that the sun is made up of two main components, hydrogen and helium. Thanks to these elements, explosions constantly occur on the Sun, the average temperature on it is about 5000 degrees. The first planet from the Sun is Mercury, then Venus, Earth, Mars. On Mercury, when the sun is shining, the temperature reaches over 400 degrees Celsius.

Even in space there are black holes, as scientists call them. In fact, these are not holes, but bodies that have a strong gravity, attraction. At the moment, scientists know little about black holes. A black hole is a very dense body that is small in size and weighs a lot. It attracts other bodies to itself, as it has great gravity. It does not glow. The nearest space-themed black hole, as determined by scientists, is several thousand light years away. Scientists have invented the Hadron Collider, a particle accelerator that can simulate black holes.

The closest star in space, Alpha Centauri, is approximately 4.2 light years from our Sun. This means that light, whose speed is 300,000 km / h, will have to fly for 4.3 years. Distances in space are very large, so for convenience they are measured in light years.

For the first time, people flew into space in 1967, it was cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, who entered the Earth's orbit and flew around it. The first who flew to the Earth's satellite of the Moon were the US cosmonauts. The moon does not revolve around its orbit, like the Earth, therefore we see only one side of it from the Earth.
